I feel so unprepared to write this blog. And that kills me!
Last time around I had so much time to dedicate to observing Presley's every move since her firsts were my mommy firsts, too. This time around I am slacking so bad! Don't get me wrong, Molly is ABSOLUTELY not missing out on any of the love or attention or affection that Presley received as a baby... it's just all flying by so fast, I guess. Too fast to remember to take note!
So here we are two months post partum with our second baby girl.
Molly weighed in at 11 pounds 3 ounces and measured 23 inches today (compared to Presley's 11 pounds 12 ounces and 22.5 inches at her two month check up). When it comes to her growth, she follows very closely to her big sister - it still cracks me up they weighed the same at birth!!!
She got her first round of shots today and if anything it has become even harder to watch my kid(s) get shots!!! I was able to nurse Molly after her shots and that helped to calm her down. I've also given her two doses of Tylenol which has seemed to help throughout the day. She had a bath before bedtime and knocked right out!
Molly got a new pediatrician today (as we were not very happy or confident with the last doctor and the office there). His name is Dr. Brad Jones and he practices at Memphis Children's Clinic in Germantown. Very impressed with the staff at this office and super glad to have made the switch!
We just got Molly a new Cloud B sleep buddy and it seems to help calm her down at nap and bedtime.
Daddy is the best at keeping Molly calm... I really think it has a lot to do with his demeanor - he's such a relaxed person. Presley used to fall asleep on me all the time as a baby and this time around it seems to be Daddy that Molly can fall asleep on at the drop of a hat! He also started massaging her before bed and she will calm down quickly with that, too. So lucky for his baby whispering abilities!
So far she is indifferent towards bath time. I usually take a bath with her and it goes pretty well!
Molly seriously loves Presley and I'm so happy that Presley loves Molly so much! Presley just wants to be right next to Molly to touch her and hug her and talk to her. I love seeing Presley interact with Molly and then see a huge grin creep across Molly's face as a result! LOVE love love my girls and I hope they are going to be best friends.
She's become a great sleeper - though she is a little baby so of course it's not like we have passed all the hurdles at this point... but goodness gracious it has certainly gotten so much better! (THANK YOU, MOLLY!)
Molly gets to see her grandparents (Tony's parents) on just about a weekly basis and it has been so great... I'm so thankful for them! This is something we didn't have with Presley when she was so young since we lived so far apart. Unfortunately, now we're so far away from my family in Illinois! Molly gets to meet her Grammy (my mom) next week when she comes down for a visit!
We still haven't chosen a church in town for our home parish and therefore haven't started planning Molly's baptism yet - but hopefully we'll get on that soon!
That's about it for now. We love you so much, Miss Molly. Thank you so much for making our family so much more beautiful and whole! I love getting to know you and I love getting to be your mommy. PS, I hope you will like to snuggle more than your big sister does!!! But I will love you either way. ;)
